We offer two different single-ply roofing systems that use the AcryShield A502 base coat. The AcryShield Roof Management (ARM) System is ideal for roof maintenance and the AcryPly All Acrylic Roofing System is ideal for restoring older roofs that have additional aging issues. These systems are excellent for your roofing company because they are easy to install, as they are spray applied. This allows you to cover seams, equipment joints, pipes, etc… creating a seamless, watertight membrane that is custom tailored to meet the specific needs of your clients’ roof. Additionally, these systems are available with a 10, 15 or 20-year warranty.

In past years there have been multiple tests conducted and data captured to determine whether a Cool Roof System using roof coatings is an energy efficient flat roof solution. The simple answer is – YES, absolutely!

In June 2010, Professional Roofing Magazine published an article that compared two rooftops - one a Cool Roof and the other a black EPDM roof. These two roofs were located next to each other in the same corporate plaza with identical weather conditions, building height and construction.  The lead estimator who conducted the test determined the following information to be true:

• Overall results showed a significant difference in internal thermal temperature – the Cool Roof only fluctuated 2 degrees during the day with outside temperatures reaching 102 degrees while the black EPDM roof fluctuated 8 degrees.
• From 10pm to 5am the internal temperature of both buildings were relatively equal to each other.
• At 6am the EPDM building began rising in internal temperature while the Cool Roof remained the same until 8am.
• By 8am the EPDM building was 2 degrees warmer inside than the Cool Roof.
• Throughout the day the building with the EPDM roof rises in temperature until roughly 4pm. The temperature range went from 84.86° at 5am to 92.96° at 4pm. This is an 8 degree temperature fluctuation throughout the day.
• The building with the Cool Roof Coatings fluctuated less than 2 degrees. From 83.72° at 5am to it’s peak at 5pm with an internal temperature of 85.61°.

The overall outcome of the test determined that Cool Roof Coating Systems provide an excellent choice when wanting an energy efficient flat roof solution.  The 8 degree difference in internal temperature is large in terms of energy usage needed to cool the building. Thus, the Cool Roof Coating System allows you to save a great amount of cost in electricity required to lower the temperature inside the building.

AcryShield A400 Has Unique Asphalt Bleed-Blocking Properties Excellent for Top Coat Over Asphalt
A400 was developed specifically for areas in warm to moderate climates where temperatures do not drop below 0ºF. A400 provides longevity and brightness with superior dirt pick-up resistance and protection against biological attack such as algae and mold. AcryShield A400 has excellent tensile strength, elongation, wet adhesion and weatherability, it exceeds all of the ASTM D6083 requirements except for low temperature flexibility.

AcryShield A500 is excellent over Asphalt, Single-Ply, SPF, Metal & Concrete Roofing
A500 can also be used as a base and top coat for both SPF and metal roofing. A500 provides longevity and brightness with superior dirt pick-up resistance and protection against biological attack such as algae and mold. A500 was developed specifically for areas where extra levels of low temperature flexibility is required (areas where temperatures drop below 0ºF). AcryShield A500 exceeds all ASTM D6083 requirements and also offers excellent tensile strength, elongation, and wet adhesion.

AcryShield A502 Base Coat for Hard to Coat Surfaces such as Hypalon, TPO, EPDM, & PVC Roofing
AcryShield A502 base coat is the industry standard, low VOC, high performance base coat. A502 base coat eliminates the need for costly TPO replacement and provides unique AcryLock technology to tenaciously adhere directly to EPDM, TPO and Hypalon without the need for additional primers or an etching rinse. A502 provides an additional layer of waterproofing, superior adhesion, and resistance to ponded water.

AcryShield A503 base coat is a one component, low VOC, water-borne base coat with unique wet adhesion properties specifically designed to adhere to asphalt, mod bit and concrete surfaces, allowing for superior protection against ponded water and eliminating the need for costly roof replacement.

AcryShield A510 Excellent in Place of A500 in Areas Where Additional Fire Retardant Packages are not Required
A510 can be applied over asphalt, single-ply, SPF, metal and concrete roofing. A510 can also be a base coat for both SPF and metal roofing. A510 exceeds ASTM D6083.
