AcryShield A179 and A590 Ultra High Reflectance

1. The AcryShield A179 is an acrylic top coat designed to reduce roof degradation and prolong the life of the roof, thereby significantly lowering life-cycle costs. A179 is used in the AcryShield Roof Management System and has been formulated to adhere to Metal and Concrete roofing systems to enhance the roofs solar reflectance. 

   A179 is a superior coating for substrates that have minimal movement or in geographies where low temperature flexibility is not required. With excellent abrasion resistance, it has the ability to be applied at lower film thickness and over several different materials including: tile, cement, cementitious substrates, clay, and pavers.

2. The AcryShield A590 is an acrylic coating with ultra high-reflectance and superior UV protection for use in AcryShield or AcryPly Roofing Systems. This coating has been designed to adhere to SPF as a base and top coat. When used with any of our outstanding base coats, A590 can perform over a wide variety of existing aged roofing systems including: BUR, Mod Bit, Asphalt, Hypalon®, EPDM, TPO, PVC, Metal and Concrete.
   

   The ultra high reflectance of A590 is engineered to lower air conditioning energy costs. A590 reduces roof degradation and prolongs the life of the roof it is applied to, significantly lowering the life-cycle costs of the roof.
   
   AcryShield A590 exceeds all ASTM D6083 requirements and also offers excellent tensile strength, elongation and wet adhesion.

Roof leaks and moisture are the number one cause for concern when it comes to your roof. It does not matter the type of roof you have, when your roof begins to leak, you have to do something quickly to resolve the issue. Roof coating systems provide excellent waterproofing to your existing roof substrate (asphalt, single-ply, concrete, metal or SPF) without a traditional roof tear-off or closures to your business.

Common causes of roof leaks and water penetration can widely range from a severely aged and brittle roof membrane to a relatively new membrane that is experiencing tears and rips at the seams. National Coatings roof coating systems provide a seamless, watertight, monolithic membrane across your entire roof surface, solving current leaks and preventing future leaks from occurring. These spray applied coating systems coat and cover the full roof surface providing complete waterproofing to your low-sloped roof even around pipes, penetrations, drains and equipment commonly found on the roof surface.

The AcryShield roof coating systems we install are very durable and flexible. The elastomeric base and topcoats used in these systems are able to stretch twice their original length and return to its original state without tearing or ripping. This is particularly important as weather climates fluctuate throughout the day; your roof expands and contracts to the hot and cold temperatures. This fluctuation can often cause leaks to roof membranes that are brittle or to roofs where the seams are not sufficiently adhered together. With an elastomeric, seamless membrane, your roof can easily expand and contract, protecting your building without ripping, tearing, and leaking.

Ponded water, “water that remains on a roof surface longer than 48 hours after the termination of the most recent rain event” - defined by the National Roofing Contractors Association; can also cause major roof degradation and delamination, which eventually leads to water penetration. The AcryShield SPF Roofing System is custom tailored to your particular roof to provide a slope in necessary areas where ponded water occurs, eliminating drainage issues and ponded water from occurring again.
