How Does Metal Roof Restoration Work?
Depending on the system that is best for your roof, some features may change but in general our metal roof restoration goes something like this... To ensure excellent adhesion and outstanding resistance to flash rusting, the RustShield A120 is applied across the roof field. All seams and fasteners are reinforced with butyl tape to provide a tight seal at these locations. For additional insulation, or custom slope, SPF can be applied. Then roof is then coated with a pass of our AcryShield base ensuring all components of the roof have been coated and protected. Next, a coat of AcryShield top coat (which can be custom tinted to match your building scheme) is applied delivering industry leading UV protection, longevity and brightness. These top coats are formulated for superior dirt pick-up resistance and protection against biological attack, such as algae and mold.
Pictures of The Restoration Process
The above images show a watertight skylight that has been completely sealed using butyl seam tape and AcryShield roof coatings - the white coating shows the base coat and the custom colored orange coating is the top coat.
Failing metal panels are removed and replaced with new paneling to remove areas of weakness, leaks and rust.
The photos above show butyl seam tape as it is applied over every seam, nail, screw, joint, penetration, etc... delivering a long-lasting, superior watertight roof membrane.
You are left with a building that now has a fully protected, fully adhered, seamless, and watertight Cool Roof Membrane. These roofing systems (in white and light grey color) are loaded with high levels of UV blocking pigments that fight against early roof degradation caused by sun damage and UV rays, reducing your roof maintenance costs. At the same time, the UV blocking pigments reflect the sun’s heat away from the building and in turn, keep the air temperature inside the building substantially lower.
In the photos above, the "during" shows a sand colored base coat to ensure the entire roof surface is coated and sealed. The end result is a bright white, highly reflective fully restored metal roof top.
