Acrylic Roof Coating Benefits

Acrylic Roof Coating BenefitsIn need of custom solutions to repair your roof? Acrylic roof coatings, also known as elastomeric coatings, are excellent at renewing and restoring your existing / failing roof to new. These coatings offer benefits custom tailored to solving your roof's particular needs.

Fast and Efficient Installation and Restoration Process

Acrylic roof coatings are spray applied directly on the new or existing roof to create a custom, monolithic, watertight membrane. The coating covers and seals all joints, seams, and penetrations around roof top equipment, solar panels, skylights and more. There is no need for additional patching or manually sealing areas because the completed coating system creates a SINGLE membrane over the ENTIRE roof surface.

With less steps and more solutions than traditional roofing systems, acrylic coatings minimize overall job length as there is typically no need for a roof tear-off and/or disposal. These coatings typically don't need primers and don't use harmful chemicals for adhesion, and the AcryShield roof coating line comes in a full set of quick-setting  options for faster job completion during wet and moist weather.

AcryShield A179 was chosen for superior dirt pick-up resistance, and advanced protection against roof degradation and biological attack such as algae and mold. High-Reflectivity = Excellent Energy Cost Savings

Acrylic coatings are also known as "Cool Roof Coatings" because the highly reflective components of the coating allow the roof to reflect a large portion of the sun's heat. This allows the inside air temperature of the building to remain much cooler and improve the comfort for the occupants. Clients are often surprised with how much cooler their buildings stay and the additional cost savings they gain from using less air conditioning to keep the building cool. "After the National Coatings' Cool Roof was installed we definitely noticed a difference in building temperature. It's not a marginal difference, either. It is between 15-20 degrees cooler inside the warehouse and store." - Jerry Moore, Facilities Director at Harbor Freight Tools

Lengthen Roof Life with Additional Protection and Durability:

Ultra-Violet (UV) blocking pigments in the AcryShield acrylic roof coatings protect the roof surface from degradation and premature aging - lengthening the overall roof life. These coatings act as a "sun-block" or shield protecting the roof from the sun’s harmful UV rays. The UV rays are the leading cause of roof degradation as they break down the materials in the roof causing it to lose its waterproofing integrity, becoming brittle and dried out which leads to cracks, splits, rips, tears and leaks.

Minimal Disruption to Tenants:

Businesses and tenants can remain open and productive during the roof restoration/renewal process due to the spray applied application and low odor of the products. Acrylic coatings do not require drilling, nailing or seam-welding - eliminating a majority of the noise and disruptions traditional roofing creates.
