White Armor® Roofing Granule Introduced by National Coatings Corporation contributes to
saving energy!
The 1st roofing granule listed with the Cool Roof Rating Council for use in roof coatings which passes the stringent CA Title 24 requirements for reflectivity and emissivity as part of the state efforts to save energy is now available for immediate delivery.
CAMARILLO, CA - 06/07/2006 Many years ago, Rick Sexauer, CEO and Founder of National Coatings (NCC) embarked on a quest to find and supply roofing contractors and OEM manufacturers the brightest, hardest, dust free cool-roof roofing granule to meet their needs. The White Armor Roofing granule system combines the 25 year old brand of AcryShield® Roof Coating with the very bright white granule to create a system that fully complies with the 2005 California Low Slope Title 24 cool-roof roofing requirements.
The industry standard roofing granules are typically a product of large mining operations. The natural coloring and color variation of the standard roofing granule prevents it from having a consistent brilliant white appearance. Some suppliers have been known to even coat their granules to achieve the higher reflectivity but when the granule fractures, the hidden lower reflectivity is exposed. "In addition to this granule being dust free it's significantly harder than the standard mined granules resulting in greater durability. This granule, should it ever fracture is bright white throughout." says Matt Kolb, the President of National Coatings.
