National Coatings Corporation Introduces
New Silicone Recoat and Vapor Retarder Products

CAMARILLO, California – February 11, 2005 - National Coatings Corporation (NCC), a leading manufacturer of high performance, sustainable roof coating materials for commercial and industrial buildings, announces the release of two new breakthrough products for the sprayed polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing market: AcryShield® Base Coat A502 for recoating SPF roofs that have previously been coated with silicone coatings, and AcryShield® Vapor Retarder A410 for use on the exterior of buildings where there is reverse vapor drive.

"In the past, SPF contractors have had only one option for recoating silicone coated SPF roofs. They had to use expensive, solvent-based silicone coatings. With AcryShield Base Coat A502, SPF contractors now have the option of using a less-expensive, water-based acrylic coating,” says Bill Kirn, Technical Director at NCC.“The great part is they don’t have to settle for low performance, because all NCC products engineered with AcryLock Technology provide excellent adhesion, superior protection, and are guaranteed to prolong the life of the roof they are applied to.” 

AcryShield Vapor Retarder A410 also provides SPF contractors with a breakthrough in roof coating technology. It is a water-borne acrylic elastomeric coating with low permeance properties similar to solvent-borne butyl coatings, but without the high VOC. AcryShield Vapor Retarder A410 is specifically designed for coating the exterior of buildings and rooms where there is reverse vapor drive such as refrigerator rooms, cold storage facilities and food packing plants.
